Diablo 2 Lvl 99 Chars Games
Lets start at the beginning.Lets go with LVL cap at 99.That gave me something to strive for.it actually took time and effort to get to in Diablo 2.it was one of the main reasons I played endlessly. In the time it takes to get to lvl 60 in this game, it took about the same amount of time to get to lvl 60 in D2.only in D2 had another 39 lvl to go.and those lvls took time and were fun. And they gave me a reason to get there with the skill and stats points awarded.

Speaking of skill and stat points.Adding the allocation wouldnt be a bad thing. In fact it would be a rather good thing. Yes, there wouldnt be any good reason to allocate points into stats that didnt matter for your class.to a degree. Yes, monks having STR and INT seem like its stupid and useless.but up into about 100 stat points, they are actually useful. Give some STR and INT, and they become a little more usable, little more survivable. Those few points into STR up to 100, and it tosses some extra armour.same with INT and resists. The rest of the stats are best for you basic locations.DEX and VIT.
Dex=Dodge, INT=Resists, STR=Armour, Vit=Health/regen. Now.all this seems pretty simple, nothing to it. Acs License File Installation Failed here. but alot of people would have an issue with Skill allocation, similar to that of D2 skill setup.
This isnt as hard as you think. We'll lead with the easiest sample to understand.Examples. I'll use 3 of them. Class-Barbarian Skill-Frenzy Effect-110% dmg with ASI of 15% each swing, maxing at 75% Now.lets allocate skill points into this. Lower the dmg down to 60% base dmg.and every skill point add 5% per lvl. That starts out at 60% dmg.weak but still effective, and about 10 points in, you make it to the exact same lvl you were pre nerf.and even better?
Take the skill point to the same max as Diablo 2.Now your dmg with Frenzy is 160%. Is that better, or worse? 160% sounds better to me.at least better than 110%. Now.I understand that not everyone uses Barbs, so lets move on to a class more familiar, with more commonly used skills.
Class-Wizard Skill-Hydra Effect-Summon a hydra to atack enemies doing 28% dmg. Now.same as Frenzy, drop the dmg down to 10%.and same as Frenzy, add about 2% per point, it goes back to 28% at lvl 10, and finally all the way up to 38% at lvl 20. Again.after some specific lvling, and focusing on Hydra.makes you good at using it.Now lets move onto a class and skill Everyone seems to know.apparently. Class-Demon Hunter Skill-Hungering Arrow Effect-Shoot a 'homing' arrow that deals 115% dmg, and pierce at a 35% chance. Now it feels kinda repetitive to keep doing this, but I'm just trying to drive the point home.
Drop the dmg down to a base of 70% and give about 8% per skill point. Gives you about 110% (I know, its not perfect) at lvl 10 and knocks it up to 150% at lvl 20. Now that I kinda drove the idea in to your heads a bit.lets move on. Skill runes you say? Duh.I didnt forget about those! Let them use runes based on how many points they invested!
You invest 4 points.you get a new rune. Either re-arrange the order you unlock them, or allow users to chose. And level the runes in a similar fashion to that of the skills themselves. You got one point in Poison Hydra? We added 1 point per lvl. What about Hungering Arrow Cinder?
Lets drop it down to 15% at lvl 1. Then bring it back up to 35% by adding 2% per lvl. Accommodate other skill runes in a similar fashion. Now.lets see here.
We have from lvl 1-99 for skill points.thats 98 skill points.allowing you to max out at least 4 skill and nearly max out a 5th.but thats weird.we have more skill buttons to use? Hmm.Left Click.right click.1, 2, 3, and 4.yep.thats 6. Well lets give some free skill points, just like in D2! How about.one per Prime Evil kill!
Sounds perfect! That gives us 12 more points.3 Prime Evils (Azmodan, Belial, and Diablo) from 4 different difficulties! That gives us a total of 110 skill points, giving us 5 full skills and one of just about half.effectively what it is now.
Lets just not complicate thing, and leave the passives alone, no buffs, no nerfs, no skill points for them. Its like an accessory to your already awesome Skill Build!
EDIT- This was made prior to the Paragon Level System. The lvl cap can be ignored, and replaced on the lvl 100 paragon cap. I'm open to suggestions for gear and monster changes to accommodate the new lvl cap. I think it would be good to just have monsters lvl as they did in D2, where Hell mode has monsters about lvl 80 and inferno should be mobs going from 85-95. Gear.they should just take the base gear we have now, reset the run and give us bigger and better stats.
