Okay, to search the Active Directory in XP Pro, all I had to do was to go to Start >Search >Printers, Computers or People >People in your address book then select Active Directory from the drop down menu, nice and easy, I came to do the same thing on Windows 7 and couldn’t find it any place, but eventually find out how, it’s easy once you know how, but this functionality seems more hidden in Windows 7there maybe another way of doing this in Win7 but I couldn’t find it, so this is how I did it. • Right click on your desktop then New >Shortcut • Then browse to C: Windows System32 rundll32.exe append the path with this dsquery,OpenQueryWindow, the full path will look like this C: Windows System32 rundll32.exe dsquery,OpenQueryWindow • Now create a name for your shortcut and Finish to complete.
