It stops by saying -to uninstall 'sonic studio DLA' program. I try to find it in my PC with add/remove of control panel. So, does anyone know how to uninstall Sonic DLA after you install Windows Vista? I have tried running the uninstall but even that says it is an unsupported driver and. Program Compatibility - Sonic DLA. If you have upgraded from XP to Vista you must uninstall the old version of Sonic and install Sonic / Roxio Version.
I just updated the firmware on my Sony drive so it works better with Win XP, and also upgraded the DLA program. When I try to format my disk, I get the message that it doesn't support write once drives. I checked the DLA software sold by sony on their website and it doesn't say if it has that feature of using write once drives. Does anyone know if it does. Is there any packet writing software that works with write once drives. I used Direct CD before Win XP came on my new computer and had no problems.
It seems there are all kinds of problems trying to use my dvd or cd writers in XP! I did not like the XP native support for my drives. Also, if anyone has a link to a more appropriate forum to ask my questions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Peggy.
I found that i couldn't read a DVD that i had written on a different XP (sp1) machine, so i assumed that i needed to update the DLA software. Once i rebooted the machine, i could 'read' the data on the disk! I disabled the XP program because it doesn't write directly to the disk and that means accumulating enough data files to fill the disk.
I tried adding a few files and going back to add a few later, the disk read 'full' and I couldn't add more files. I used to use Direct CD a lot for data backup and didn't need to read it on other computers, but Roxio has had so many bad reviews, and packet writing software seems to be in disfavor. Does anyone use the new version of Direct CD without problems? I use the CD-r because I tend to keep the files on there anyhow and the RW disks are not supposed to be as reliable. Would appreciate your thoughts on this subject!
Thank you, Peggy.
