Office Crashes When Opening Files
It’s been reported that after upgrading to Windows 10, when opening Office files from Outlook emails, or OWA, the Office applications appear to launch. This one is a weird one. I've had a few cases through the years in different OSes and I have yet to find a way to correct this without actually having to re-ins. Open the Office app, click on File >Open and navigate to the server location (OneDrive or SharePoint). Using a web browser, open the file directly from SharePoint or OneDrive where the file is stored. Problem: A user has Excel 2010 and is attempting to open an Excel document from our Office 365 Sharepoint server. Excel Crashes when attempting to open the file with.
Hi, We are currently using Office 2010 on Windows 7 without any problems. I have been trying to roll out Office 2016 365 for some time - but the pilot users keep reporting that Excel 2016 crashes when opening files. Driver Token 4.28 Windows 7. I spent this morning looking into it and I am able to replicate the problem.
We have DFS file shares (Server 2012 R2) but the problem also happens when browsing to a normal server share (non-DFS) that Excel 2016 365 will crash intermittently when opening files (say 1 in 10 file opens). I copied the folder of Excel files to the desktop and Excel never crashes when I opened it. We are using Windows 10 build 10586.218 we use Symantec Endpoint Protection - Version 12.1.6608.6300. I have replicated the problem when SEP is enabled and disabled. We also have SEP running on the Windows 2012 R2 server - but the problem happens whether SEP is enabled or not (I have tried with SEP disabled on both the server and the windows client) I cannot think what else it can be.

Edited 5 minutes later: That long lasted my happines:( Excel GUI got fozen. Proposal from Prabhavathi Patil doesn't work for me. Please focus on real solution.
Some more details which may be help full for you: - I tried to run excel on both available Video adapters - same problems - I have in total 4 displays connected to my PC - laptop 1920x1080 - external monitor HP 1920x1200 - external monitor HP 1920x1200 - external monitor Belinea 1024x1280 so both graphic cards are in use. - I think it happens only when working with files stored on network (both windows shares so pc shara file and sharepont )' Source: So, it is a known issue for Excel 2016 (Office 365). You can try to install Excel 2016 (32 bit) on Windows 7 (64 bit) to check whether it is the Excel 2016 problem or the OS problem. After seeing and troubleshooting win 10 problems, I have the following impression for win 10 free upgrade. You need new hardware which are win 10 certified.
